Financial ransomware now targeting U.S users

Even though the infamous GameOver Zeus botnet and the CryptoLocker ransomware have been disrupted, their stories and media coverage has enticed other mobile malware writers to copy their concept and release their own versions. On June 8th, Kaspersky Lab detected a similar mobile Trojan called Svpeng, currently operating in the UK and USA.

eBay hacked - 145 million records compromised

Some 145 millions user records have been accessed when hackers raided eBay Inc's network 3 months ago. This attack is being described as one of the biggest data breaches in history, based on the number of accounts compromised. Customers are now being heavily advised to change their password immediately to avoid any risk of un-authorized account access.
